Once upon a time at Hogwarts there were two best friends named Sylvie and Morag. They were Ravenclaws and always had all sorts of adventures.

One day, the two girls were having breakfast when they discovered that everything tasted like brussel sprouts!

"This is making me sick to my stomach," Morag complained.

"Mo, shh," Sylvie hushed her blonde friend, "Something must be very wrong with the house-elves if they are making our food taste this way. We should find out what it is and help them!"

Morag agreed and the two girls headed to the Exit of the Great Hall so they could start their investigation.

The first obvious place to check would be the kitchen but the two girls weren't sure how to sneak in there. "We need to be invisible." Morag said, digging into her pocket for her wonderful wand. Morag was excellent at charms but unfortunately not quite as good as Sylvie was.

"Do you know a spell to help?" Morag asked, giving up the search for her wand and picking lint off her high quality uniform instead. "This is going to be a dangerous mission so we need the best invisibility possible."

Sylvie was always happy to help her friend and nodded. "I know just the thing!" Waving her wand around and creating a blue smoke, the two girls found themselves quite invisible.

"I know that the kitchens are by Hufflepuff," Sylvie said, "Annette told me."

That meant that the girls had to go down to the basement. Sylvie had heard all sorts of rumours as to what might be down there - from a Fwooper to a dragon that was meant to keep away anyone that did not belong in the Badger house. But hopefully being invisible would help them sneak past whatever creature might be lurking down below.

Ooh! Being invisible was cool! Albeit, slightly weird. Still, it was going to make their trip to the kitchen easier.

Near Hufflepuff? Morag shuddered. This was going to be quite scary, even for the brave Ravenclaw girls. "Maybe we should go to the Quidditch pitch and see if we can find a Beater to borrow a bat off." she suggested. She didn't think braving the dungeons without some sort of protection was a smart idea and they did have their Ravenclaw reputation to keep up.

"That might be a good idea," Sylvie agreed, because who knew if creatures could see through invisibility or not.

Once at the Pitch, though, they didn't find any Beaters, just a Keeper by the name of Oliver Wood.

"Do you have any Beaters' Bats we can borrow?" Sylvie asked, forgetting that they were invisible.

Oliver couldn't see them and ran off, scared of the voices out of nowhere, the poor thing!

"That was Weird," Sylvie said, "Anyway, let's see if they have bats on the equipment shed and see about the house elves."

"Very weird." Morag agreed. "I thought Oliver was meant to be braver than that."

She headed towards the equipment shed and pushed the door open carefully. A huge gust of dust flew out at her and she started to cough.

"They really should clean this thing." Morag complained when she'd finally stopped coughing. "It's disgustingly dirty. I don't know how we can be expected to find anything!" She started digging around until she found an old tissue. "Ew!" she exclaimed, throwing it away from her.

"This place is gross. No wonder I don't do sport."

She looked around for Sylvie, which was hard considering they were both invisible. "Found a bat yet?" she asked. Morag couldn't wait to get out of here, even if it meant facing hairy creatures.

It was just her luck that Sylvie had. "Yep! Let's go!"

Now armed and protected, the girls headed down to the basement to find the kitchens. Fortunately, having a sister there meant Sylvie sort of knew the way and she knew they were on the right track when everything started turning the colour yellow.

Morag said something to Sylvie, but she didn't hear it very well.

"What?" she asked, turning to her invisible friend, just has they heard a loud Ding come from down the corridor.

"I said did you hear something?" Morag repeated, glancing around quickly. She could've sworn she'd heard someone talking. She stopped walking for a moment then motioned for her friend to do the same. Morag was right, there was a noise and it sounded like someone was singing a song. But where was the voice coming from?

The two tiptoed around the corner where they stumbled across a looney portrait, singing and talking to herself. The two snuck past without making a sound, hoping the portrait wouldn't catch them.

"Merlin, what a lunatic." Morag said when they were out of ear shot. "I'm glad her portrait isn't near Ravenclaw tower."

"She is a little bit out of tune," Sylvie agreed, "But I'm sure she would do better with some singing lessons!"

Finally, the two girls reached the corridor with the kitchen door in it, almost afraid of what monster they might see. Was it a yeti? Or a basilisk? Or a quintaped?

It was none of the above. Instead, it was a little monkey doing gymnastics and wearing a collar with the name Meaghan embroidered on it.

"Ooh! I love Monkeys!" Morag exclaimed. "And it's already distracted by his gymnastics. We can sneak past it no trouble."

The two snuck past and soon found themselves outside the kitchen door. The opened it cautiously, peering round the door. They definitely did not expect what they saw...

The house elves were all gathered around one who was staggering around in a circle, obviously high on some sort of 'special' potions. One house elf explained to the girls that because of his addiction, he thought brussel sprouts were the greatest tasting thing ever.

"Oh the poor dear!" Sylvie exclaimed, "he needs some help!"

A few well placed Floo calls later and the elf was off to rehab where he would hopefully soon be cured and back to normal.

As for Sylvie and Morag? Well, after an adventure, they were ready to just flop on the couch in their Common Room. And they did.
