So it turns out that taking online classes in subjects I know absolutely nothing about is a very bad idea. i did a similar project during my time at iadt.... i did David Hockney... he has a very distinct style... kind of like a collage. i just got a big book about him w/ lots of examples of work.

annie leibovitz (portraits, mostly celebrities)
ansel adams (b&w nature)
diane arbus (unordinary people) - i really like her. there's a fictionalized movie about her starting nicole kidman
dorothea lange (migrant workers, depression era)
