Go! Be free! Peace and quiet are a blissful thing! (This has now guaranteed an alien army will land their spaceships in the nearest sheep pasture while you're there. Or maybe an ancient army will come marching up out of the fog, or that sort of thing.)

And "manky" is on my short list of British words that need to be added to the American vocabulary. Also on this list--shirty, grotty, bog standard, and bodge. (In all fairness, Jared, Eddie, and I use the short list words with a great deal of frequency. Thanks, Games Workshop!)

And in the interest of vocabulary exchange, have "cattywampus," which is a Southeastern United States regional term meaning "out-of-alignment, crooked, askew" but can also be used to describe intangibles, such as: "I was going to go have lunch with Rory, but Ringo had a bad morning and now the whole day has gone all cattywampus."
