So now that Legacy of the Force is over... thoughts anyone? Did you like it? Hate it? Will you be picking up the next book or ten or however many they write after this?

I'm sure everyone can figure out how I feel -- it looks a lot like this: :|

I'm not picking up any of the books after LOTF, but for whether I enjoyed the series? Well, up to a certain point (I refuse to read Invinicible after flicking through the last pages in the shop, and I've skimmed read Revelation). I still think that Jacen as a Sith Lord could have worked as a refreshing and unique insight into a 'different' Sith, but then the authors (as I feared) took the 'easy' way out.

For how I feel now? I think you know.

Liked some of the plotlines, especially Ben's. I liked the political machinations.

I hated what they did to Jacen.

I won't be picking up the books after LotF. I didn't mind Jacen as Sith Lord and I thought they could have made it very interesting and exciting. I did like the slow descent into Sith madness but it could have been much better. Instead they took the easy way out.

Killing him was the last straw, however. They didn't even try at redemption (as far as I can tell from the discussions - I refused to read Invincible).

So, I'm not happy about what they did. It's too bad, too, because I like Aaron Allston as a person and as an author but apparently he's writing some of the next books in the next series and I'm not buying them.

Actually, Jacen came to in the last book. Still evil, but suddenly conscious again.

Yes, it depended on who was writing Jacen whether he was a complete maniac or just an evil Sith.

Killing him reduces the plot potential of future books. Heck, let's face it. I'm just pissed about it.

But it's really been the accumulation of all that death and destruction. After a while, it seems unrelenting. I can't take it any more.

I have a new theory: Jacen Solo is the Secret Apprentice.

It's been amusing to consider.

I think ... if you ignore all the books in the middle, THAT WAS AN AWESOME RIDE.

I want more Mandos. And more Sithy people. OOH. AND A MEDITATION SPHERE. Yesss...

I liked it very much, except for the dumb ol' Mandos. And except for Lumiya. I fully blame her for the fact that Jacen made such a crappy Sith Lord.
