I suspect that, once you've gone to orientation this weekend, you'll either get all fired up about this faire season, or else you'll think, "Ugh, I really don't feel like doing this again just now!" But until then, a couple of thoughts:
It sounds a bit like you're trying to talk yourself out of doing Scarby this year. Your list of cons is a lot longer than your list of pros. Although you bring up valid points, it still strikes me as a pretty big case of burnout.
Remember that, if you choose not to work faire this year, it can be just a temporary break for one season -- it's not lifelong retirement! And, as I mentioned before, just because you aren't working Scarby, that doesn't mean you're not allowed through the gates! (I know, I know; no money, no ride... But I'm pretty sure that my bunch of friends and myself -- as well as others -- would make sure that you had a pass and transportation, at least for some of the weekends
