After lots and lots of signing things, the car has been collected and now sits outside my house :) Managed to get insurance for around £480, which isn't too bad considering I'm under 25, have no claims bonus and have only had a licence for a year and a half. I've parted with rather a lot of money today, but at least everything's sorted out now. :)
