Katsucon review...more or less...
Well,
Better late than never…
I’ve been meaning to write about my con experience for quite some time, but I must admit that I balked because I was so pissed about how my pictures turned out and didn’t want to talk about it. *pouts*
Despite a few times when the panel rooms were too small to accommodate the attendees and an AMV presentation which frankly sucked balls, overall Katsucon 16 was fabulous!
Not only was the hotel/convention center REALLY NICE, but I also got to witness a cool convergence of YGO Cosplayers, some old school yummyness (Tenchi Muyo!) and well done costumes of some of my fave animes!
I also met one of my fave YGO writers, Lomelindi, who’s quite gorgeous. Even my son said so! ^_^
My bff (and I attended the Sweet 16 prom, which was totally cheesy, but a blast nonetheless, a few of the panels that we could get into, which were done very well, and the Cosplay awards ceremony, which was kind of nice.
We and spent oodles of time wandering around the huge convention/hotel complex taking pictures and in the quite large dealer’s room taking more pictures and buying stuff (mostly me).
The aforementioned sucky AMV contest was probably my biggest disappointment. Though the sound system problems were something unforeseen which could have been overlooked, I was more irritated by the AMV’s submitted. Usually, the pool is MUCH better.
Anywho, my bff(SerenaJ0 on the flickr page) and a few others set up a flickr picture pool for Katsucon 16. I just uploaded those of my pics that don’t suck or only kinda suck. (I’m SO mad that my pic of Ulquiorra didn’t come out well! *sob* *sob*) There are at least 100 other pics that I took which came out too fuzzy or dark to post. (Cheap digital camera + user error = CRAP!)
