It was an understatement of sorts to say that Winry was surprised that Izuru had asked her on a date so soon. She didn't mind, of course, she was glad to have something to help her relax after work at the hospital. She hadn't ever had a job quite like this. Sure, she'd volunteered at the clinic back home but that had just been helping people decide whether or not they were ready for a prosthetic limb. Working at this hospital was...well, it was kind of stressful. The hospital was huge and she had yet to figure out her place in it.
She had showed up a little bit early. It was probably some sort of faux pas, a dating expert might say she seemed to eager, but at this point, after having dated him for a year and having grown up a bit since then, she really didn't care. She had never been one to take that kind of advice anyway. It was almost weird to show up at his house after such a long time, but at least it was still the same. She didn't think that anything in San Francisco had changed much in the last four years, but perhaps Izuru had. After all, this time it had only taken him a couple hours to ask her out. Last time had been much different, not that she'd been thinking about dating him that early after they had met.
She knocked on the door loudly, knowing that Izuru was probably in the kitchen. She'd probably try helping with whatever he was making even though it would be in both their best interests to keep her out of the kitchen.
