Momo had really been working too much lately. She spent too much time at home with stuff from work. Unfortunately sometimes the paperwork had to be taken home. Thankfully, Sango's visit would force her to put her pen down and the papers away. Sighing, as she looked over the papers, she hoped that would be soon. Only a few moments later, Picasso started barking as he ran from her and Kankuro's room and over to the door. Momo followed him, happy to be away from her work and walked to the door.
Opening the door, she smiled happily, though she could only be distracted momentarily before she had to worry about Picasso trying to run outside. She pushed the puppy away from the door before motioning for Sango to come inside. She had closed the door before turning to Sango with a bright smile. "It's so good to see you again!" She gave the other girl a gentle hug before noticing the bag of treats. "Oh, you're going to be Picasso's favorite visitor."
"I'm happy to see you, too!" Sango said brightly. She returned Momo's hug, then offered the bag of dog treats to her with a laugh. "Here, you should take them and decide when to give them out. I'm too easily coerced," she said, grinning. Kirara was one thing, she'd worked out her tricks. But a little cute puppy? She might feed him the whole bag without realizing it.
Sango glanced around the room for a moment. "This is nice," she said, admiring it. She knew they'd recently moved into a new place. Then, she looked down to see Picasso, in all his adorable glory. "Is this him?" she asked, covering her mouth. A-ah...! No, no, Kirara and James might be unhappy if she went out and brought a puppy home herself...
Momo took the little bag with a grin. "I'm not sure I'm very good to have treats for him either. Kankuro says I just can't give him treats for just being cute." She laughed. It really was a bad idea for her to do that. She just couldn't help it. He was such a cute little puppy. "He takes care of the 'guard dog' parts of the training, but I had to take care of house training him since I was home more and I taught him to sit and come
( ... )
Sango smiled, leaning down to scratch him behind the ear. "I think that Kirara might like him," she said. "She's friendly. She likes most everyone, if they're nice." She stood, brushing her shorts off lightly as she watched Momo feed him a treat. "He'd trained pretty well already," she said, her tone admiring. What a good dog!
She followed Momo to the couch and sat down on one end, crossing her legs. "I'm doing okay," she said, then blushed just a little bit. "Yeah, I suppose we are." Playing house, huh? She guessed that was what she was doing. She was living a very... ordinary life, or as ordinary as it could get when you were a bodyguard. But she went home every day, sat down to dinner at the table, then watched a movie or played a video game and went to bed with James. They were practically married, weren't they? It was normal - stable. That was what she'd wanted, wasn't she? A normal life, with a family.
