Our neighbors are horses, one of whom turned 3 weeks old yesterday. Some of you have asked for pics: I don't have any yet.

If you are renting..check and see if it's ok to wreck the buildings and if so, can you get a work for rent trade?

I wanna live in Asheville or near by, say the back of the biltmore estate or someplace like that... -sighs-

But it's safer to stay here in Texas.

Sounds wonderful! I miss living in the country; even if it was two hours to San Francisco and "culture," it was worth it to live across the road from a lake and have deer feasting on the lawn. Most people wait until the kidlets have arrived before they start worrying about schools ;p If your public options aren't that great, there's always private or home schooling. Don't know if your state offers support to home schooling parents the way California does.

Trebuchet demolition sounds awesome! You will have to find a way to make the cutout taunt the demo team... Enjoy the adventure of making the homestead your own and shaping the land to your heart's desire :)
