Ah, you're in UAE, too! I just looked at your profile at first, and thought you were farther away. :)

A fierce quake... OR THE END OF THE WORLD!

I'm near Mall of Emirates... until I read your post, I wasn't sure whether anybody but my husband and me felt it (I know, it went for like 20 seconds, but somehow I thought nobody else would notice!) and I sure didn't realize people were evacuating. We just sat here going, "Whoa..."

I approve of your Andy icon. =)

That's because the ground below Newcastle was HOLLOW!

It's pretty cool that the expats brushed it off and the locals were freaking out ;-) although I never really thought of the Middle East being on its own plate (the Arabian Plate)

It's the same in Japan.

We had soo many earthquakes that all the expats got used to them and looked upon them as 'fun' the Japanese would run around like ants though.

The earthquakes happen up towards Iran.. which is pretty far away, but I guess its the closest to a faultline that I've ever been!

The news reports are all worried now about how things are being built.. especially with things being like 1km high!
