So Mac’s dad apparently was honestly bothered by our living conditions being messy.  It was his biggest thing ever since we went to the hospital and pretty much all he talked about. So he insisted we get people in to clean the house -JUST THIS ONCE- if we were unable to do so. He offered to pay for it which was nice, I guess, but I wasn’t too keen

Wow thats pretty nuts. Its sounds like the kinda cleaning job my mom used to do when I was in middle school. Looking back she was probably looking for drugs and then just couldn't remember where all my shit was supposed to go. But yeah, wow.

My mom apparently would do shit like that she told me about later but I was just too spacey to notice at the time. She told me once how she found a pack of cigarettes once and how she thought of throwing them out and yelling at me but then just decided to smoke them all halfway to fuck them up, then put them back so I'd KNOW she knew.
And I was like, "I don't remember anything about that ever happening. Huh. Guess that worked out well."

Haha true, thats because she would randomly do it and not often. Its funny though now that I have my own place I hate when its messing so its like the exact opposite now. Your moms funny though. I'd bet someone you had over found that pack one time, took it, but didn't look inside prior to taking it. When they opened it they were probably bummed and thought you a weirdo for having a pack of all clipped cigs lol
