I agree.
People who come out with that crap annoy me.

Also, what's all this about possible life changing decisions?
(hah! like you're gonna say before you've even decided! Good luck with it, whatever it is)

You know, I had a feeling it might be.

I'm going for "I'm chucking it all in" versus "A PhD? Yeah, why not?".

But that's just a guess, of course. ;D
Good luck, anyway.

I agree. Some of my favourite shows have gotten popular, and I'm just happy the higher ratings mean less cancellation possibility. Hell, I wish things like Firefly and Veronica Mars had been more popular.

Bizarrely NCIS, which has always been a solid performer ratings wise, has shot up to ridiculous levels in the last year or so (number 2 in it's slot sometimes), while still remaining under the critical radar. It's not 'popular' (or buzzy) per se, just millions and millions and millions of people watch it. Which sort of begs the question: what is popular anyway?

You know, I have to say, I'm feeling a bit that way about Doctor Who at the moment.
I have some serious reservations about the new series anyway, which are naturally based on it not being the same as the original series. While change is not inherently a bad thing, if you feel a thing loses what was originally so good about it, you can't help but feel it's a lesser creature than it once was.

However, what's really killing me, I think, is the fact that, for a large number of people, Doctor Who fandom these days seems to be promarily about lusting after David Tennant (and, for some, various apparently 'hot' companions).

In fact, that seems to be the case with a lot of fandoms and it's something that I personally find insanely aggravating. For me, as far as Doctor Who goes, that's a definite debasement of the programme as a whole. No offense intended to Mr. Tennant, who I think is actually a good actor and whose performances I'0ve also enjoyed in other things. It's ( ... )

I was hanging out with the audience during the second intermission and the comments about the show were all really really positive.
