I started playing Dat Ass Effect (The First) the other day

and now I am entirely too swept up in a terrible, irreversible hnnnnghing state of STUPID SEXY ALIENS.

I can't handle this. I cannot.

I guess it's just a vaguely curious reaction in general or something?

I am familiar with the stupid sexy trope. Aliens involved? I am suddenly interested. Partly because I have been rereading the Ringworld series by Larry Niven (which, as you can guess, involves aliens! ...Oh boy I might end up textwalling at you about this if you ask.)

I am also very briefly familiar with Mass Effect. Took slight interest because its world-building with regard to alien sociology/culture/anthropology??? sounded very interesting. But then I realized that this game had the 1st-person-shooter format, which I don't like so much. So there went that interest.

Shows you need to be watching? If they're any good, pimp them to me too! Just out of general curiosity that takes control of me no matter how much homework I should be doing at the moment, haha.

(Also I shall be going to sleep now, so I'll come back to this tomorrow!)

Mass Effect is really, really good sci-fi. I feel like it definitely is interesting enough to hold your attention. For the record, it's not truly FPS, the fighting is third-person! Yes, there's shooting, but a huge amount of the game is choosing how to speak to people - be it investigating, negotiating, charming, or making it known that you're not gonna take crap from anyone. The majority of the game is exploration in one way or another, whether uncharted worlds and side-missions or asking questions that build your understanding of the vast galaxies at hand.

Most of the shows are things I need to catch up on rather than new ones! None of them are that good, per se. :'D Well I mean I'd recommend Gintama to anyone, but that's big enough that you probably have an opinion on that already anyway!

I STARTED PLAYING DAT ASS EFFECT TOO BUT THEN I STOPPED BECAUSE I REMEMBERED I SUCK AT SHOOTERS. 8D

Also I still haven't watched the end of Tiger & Bunny. Assuming it's ended by now. I've been too busy getting re-obsessed with Hourou Musuko ahahahah sweet angsty trans kids why do you do this to me

DID YOU?? HOW FAR DID YOU GET IF I MAY ASK? alaksdf if you can, you should totally stick with it!! If you play on easy mode, you should be able to get through it, I think -- I'm doing a ton better than I anticipated (to the point where I'm thinking "...this is too easy" on normal mode). I've never been great at shooters before either!
But oh man, it's mostly my knowledge of ME2 that has plunged me into this hardcore. There is so much awesome there I can't even -- the first is SO ENJOYABLE, knowing what to expect. These characters are so beautiful, I. I CAN'T ( ... )
