[Slugger approaches, sits quietly, and gazes at the flame. The side of his face might look a bit red and swollen, and there's a small roll of gauze stuffed into one of his nostrils which may be a bit blood stained.

He doesn't say anything, just watches her burn the paper as if in a trance.]

[miss_enma_ai]

[She continues to burn the cranes. Slowly and with methodical movements. She'll eventually look over at Slugger as she places another crane in the fire.]

What happened?

[strike_you_out]

[Breaking from the reverie, he slowly glances up at her.]

I was on the bus and someone hit me.

[miss_enma_ai]

Why?

[strike_you_out]

I pushed her into a pond.

[miss_enma_ai]

[Just looking at him still. Um why?]

[strike_you_out]

...

She was going to push me first.

[miss_enma_ai]

I see.

[Alright then....Just going to put another crane into the fire.]

[strike_you_out]

[It's a true story, Ai. He really does believe she was going to throw him into the pond. Anyway, he pulls out the gauze, sniffs, and decides his nose has stopped bleeding again. Then, turning his attention to the fire:]

Are you making a wish?

I was thinking about it.

[But then she decided to burn them.]

[strike_you_out]

Was it to leave this place?

[miss_enma_ai]

[She nods as she drops another one into the flames.]

[strike_you_out]

[He watches, chin in hand, as the paper is blackened and consumed. It's relaxing.]

[It is. Which is why she's been doing it. Sometimes...it's just nice watching things being destroyed.]

[There's a long gap of silence before he speaks again.]
