Plain as opposed to dark, or plain as opposed to milk?

sorry - plain as in dark. I didn't know there was an alternative meaning, actually - you learn something every day!

Further experiments have suggested that this fact is not in fact fact. Which is a shame, as I really liked it.

Sainsbury's organic FairTrade, or Montezuma's dark. M&S Fairtrade also OK but hard to get hold of.

I think probably the nicest stuff I've even came from the posh chocalatier when I worked in Victoria. I can't remember what it was called but it was very good and very strong. There's also the mad stuff we got from the Food Hall - "shades of hay and licorique", but can't remember the brand name, soz.
