Title: Advantage
Characters: Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: pumpkin, terror, bones
Rating: K+
Summary: The Baltics are scared of Russia, who takes advantage of that on Halloween.
A/N: The times where they all are together says it all, and they spoke to me: “Write it, write it!!"
The Baltics trembled in terror as they walked down the street to Russia’s house. They knew that they were going to get scared because Russia was just creepy by default, but it was Halloween, and everyone was trying to be as scary as possible. They could only hope for being a little spooky, but America’s chainsaw and Prussia’s antics won instantly.
With their plastic pumpkins full of candy, they kept walking, and observing the decorations and costumes of everyone. Some countries had bones sticking out of their sides, but nothing could compare to their greatest fear.
They knocked on the door, which opened ever so slowly with a low chuckle. They began to shake again and were greeted by Russia, who was dressed as a mouse, or a koala, with a suit. They could have said it was a cute costume, but Russia was wearing it.
“Hello, you three. Are you ready to join me in the candy seeking?” he asked.
“Sure,” they answered as they let the Russian pass.
“Just so you all know, there will be a lot of the tricking than the treating this year. Last year was really boring. Not enough tricking,” Russia pointed out.
“O-okay!”
“Lithuania, would you mind holding my pumpkin?” Russia asked.
However, when Lithuania pulled on the pumpkin, he took Russia’s arm with him and blood began to squirt out, hitting him in the face.
“Ahh! Your arm! I am so sorry!” Lithuania said as he began to think about his options for running from the larger country.
Russia began to laugh that low chuckle of his. “Ah, you should have seen your face. It was hilarious. I told you I would be tricking more than treating.”
Lithuania’s heart was not able to relax for the night, not even when he made sure Russia’s real arm was in place.
Title: The Only Thing Scarier Than Russia
Characters: Russia, the Baltics, a surprise character
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: pumpkin, terror, bones
Rating: T because of minor language
Summary: Russia had to fear something, right?
A/N: I could not leave this out of the challenge. I just couldn’t!
Russia and the Baltics continued their trick-or-treating. The Russian wasn’t as intimidating as the Baltics believed him to be. America interacted with him just fine, but, he did have a chainsaw. And it was America, so he never really was terror-stricken. Russia also talked with China, who almost whacked him with his plastic pumpkin for tricking him with his fake arm. He spoke with France and Britain without any trouble, but, Britain was a former pirate and could kick ass and break bones, and France had ways of defeating people, so it occurred to the Baltics that he spoke fine with countries who had power. That was not fair to them, though!
Russia continued to pleasure-smile until he met a worthy opponent. Well, she found him, and began to drag him away without letting him argue, but then, again, Belarus was scary as hell and whoever dared argue with her was asking for a strangle session, which was more probable for Russia than any of the Baltics who were ignored by her.
“But I am doing the trick-or-treating!” Russia reasoned as she dragged him away.
“Big brother, you need to come with me! I know where we can get married. You will be the husband mouse and I will be your wife mouse!” Belarus said, with a demanding voice. “We will marry tonight and you will like it!”
That was worse than any trick on Halloween for Russia. But he would not scream out for help; he was too proud for that shit, so instead, he tried figuring out a way to get away from his darling sister. Fast. Too bad the Baltics were more scared of Belarus than Russia, and that was fine. She could keep him. It’s not like they minded.
Title: Legends, Myths, and Scary Things
Characters: America, Mexico
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: pumpkin, terror, bones
Rating: K+
Summary: Mexico is scared of her legends and America gets dragged into it all.
A/N: Trust me, you’d be scared too, if you were Mexican. XD
Mexico walked around the streets for Halloween treats with her plastic pumpkin.
“Hey, Mexico, got any candy yet?” America asked as he saw her pass by.
“I’m more preoccupied about other things,” she said.
“Like what?”
“Like ‘El Cucuy’ and ‘La Llorona’ appearing tonight,” she began. “They are legends from my country and they are very creepy. They terrorize my people by the mere thought of them, so it’s not very pleasant to suddenly see them. And tonight, they could really come out!”
“Really? Are they like ghosts or something?” America asked as he held his pumpkin closer to him.
“Yes!”
“Ah! No, ghosts are scary! Get them away from me!” America began.
“Shut up, idiota! They might hear you!” But when she turned to check her surroundings, she suddenly heard sobs from afar.
“Ahi, Dios mio!” she exclaimed. “She’s here!”
“Who is?” America questioned as he creeped closer to her.
“La Llorona. She’s crying because she lost her child and is searching for him, but he’s actually dead, and she died crying and searching,” Mexico explained. “I get scared just by telling you!”
“Then, let’s get away from here!” America said as he pulled on her arm.
Mexico saw a girl with bone white skin behind America. And she yelled so loud, not even America’s usual voice could compare. The began to scramble around until America was able to pull on her again and began to run away from the ghost.
“Hey, why are you two running away?”
“Get away from us, ghost!” America yelled.
“Ghost? There is no ghost ‘ere.”
“Hey, France, are you sure you want to keep wearing that thing? You’re scaring the hell out of me,” Britain said as he met up with him.
“Oui, mon ami. I think I scared poor America and Mexico silly. Too bad. I wanted to actually treat them.”
Title: Pirate Era
Characters: Britain
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: terror, bones
Rating: T
Summary: Don't mess with Pirate Britain
A/N: Watch this video and you’ll understand my inspiration. This brought on a whole new perspective on Britain as a pirate concept:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMonbbYzE4Q If you ever made a deal with Britain, or had an encounter with him, it was like messing with the devil. The pirate was capable of anything, rattling a person’s bones with absolute terror and pleasure in the same second. He redefined the definition of ‘pirate’; he was just too much of a country for such a term. The poor, unfortunate souls that dealt with him were totally fucked.
He could beat an entire armada with a single swing of his sword while commanding the best navy in the world. There was nothing that could stop him. Nothing.
“So, you think you have what it takes to make a deal with me?” he would ask his victims.
“Yes, sir,” they would answer, but would always end up owing him, and then, he would get his payment out of them, whether by walking the plank, becoming his servants for life, or just pleasing them with whatever was at their disposal.
He proved to be better than France in bed. If women ever owed him, they knew how to pay him back, and he loved that payment even more than any treasures he would take, which made France jealous because he was stealing his reputation.
Britain didn’t even care. His rudeness and maniacal methods were the way to go with him and if you didn’t follow his rules, you were finished. He would shed people’s blood and make them see before carving into them the crest of the British Empire. Of course, that would end up killing them, but to Britain, that was their problem and his way of being a pirate.
Title: America’s First Halloween Pt. 1
Characters: Britain, America
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: pumpkin, terror, bones
Rating: K
Summary: Britain takes America out trick-or-treating for the first time.
A/N: I remember my baby cousin’s first Halloween and he was dressed like a duck, so his cheeks looked puffier than ever. I thought America would look puffy, too. XD Too cute to resist.
Britain fixed America’s costume before they left for the night. He didn’t want for his baby brother to have such a heavy costume on, so he decided America should dress up as a pumpkin. His cheeks even looked puffier than usual and he had to resist the urge to pinch his cheeks. It was just not like him to lose his composure like that and he had to set an example to his brother.
“Alright, then, I think we are ready,” Britain announced as he handed America his candy bag.
“You’re not going to dress up?” America asked. His little voice made Britain blush for no reason.
“Uh, well, I thought you should be the one dressing up since it is your first time trick-or-treating,” Britain explained.
“Aw, but that won’t be fun if it’s just me.”
“Don’t worry about that, America,” Britain reassured. “I want you to have a good time.”
“But I want for you to have fun with me,” America said.
“I will, just not in a costume.”
“I want you to dress up!” America chirped. “Please? I want for you and me to be in costumes.”
“But I don’t have a costume,” Britain explained. “It’s such short notice that I can’t make one on the spot.”
“But you’re my big brother; you have everything.”
That kid was observant and Britain had to admit he was right. “Alright, then, let’s look and see what costumes I have in my room.”
They went to Britain’s room and began to see what he could wear. America came across red fabric and began to pull on it, prompting Britain to retrieve it.
His old pirate uniform. The one he used for inflicting terror, breaking bones, and defeating navies.
“Wear this!” America said.
“I can’t wear this!”
“Yes, you can! You can wear anything because it’s Halloween.”
Title: America’s First Halloween Pt. 2
Characters: Britain, America, other countries
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: pumpkin, terror, bones
Rating: K
Summary: Britain takes America out trick-or-treating for the first time.
A/N: I feel like America should be a smart baby?
How a baby explained that to him was beyond Britain, but he gave in and decided to please his brother, even if the attire reminded him of bones and terror.
Taking his brother’s hand, America led them out of their home and began their trek for candy.
They visited France’s house, who was actually being nice that night and was not arguing with Britain. However, they did scowl at each other, but France softened up when he saw America in his pumpkin costume. He was too cute to resist and wanted to give him all the candy he had.
They visited Spain’s house, who also had a silent face down with Britain before giving America candy. He didn’t soften up as much, because he knew his brother was a lot cuter than Britain’s, but America’s chubby face could always get a smile out of anyone.
Sweden and Finland did not show any signs of aggression and gave America so much candy, his bag looked more swollen than his baby cheeks.
“See, Britain, we’re having a really good time,” America pointed out.
Britain smiled and agreed with his baby brother as the rest of the countries glared daggers at him for wearing his pirate uniform. America did not know how much damage his older brother caused.
Title: Hollywood Terror
Characters: America, other countries
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: pumpkin, terror, bones
Rating: K+ish.
Summary: The world wonders how America is able to make horror films.
A/N: He’s great when scaring us silly, nay?
America had a knack for scaring the shit out of the world with his films of terror and violence, especially when the time for Halloween arrived.
He released so many movies, like Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Curse of Chuckie, amongst other hits that were so horrifying, yet it was a mystery how he was scared of ghosts, since more than half of his movies featured ghosts in them. The pumpkins were a sign that the events were close to October 31st, but the breaking of bones, shedding of blood, the graphic scenes of gore and violence astounded the world.
Britain and France had to admit they were impressed because their people went to see these movies and loved them so much, even if they got scared. Japan was curious to know how America did all the special effects because the ghosts had to be fake, if not the American wouldn’t even dare direct such movies. Mexico never really minded because she just used subtitles, or dubbed the damn movies and made money either way. However, nobody could resist the frightening experiences that went on during the movies and the world would end up screaming at the spontaneity and suddenness of it all. Especially if it had 3-D effects. Yes, America was the master of scary movies, yet ghosts in a picture were more brutal to him than any of the monsters and ghouls he created.
Title: Temper
Characters: America, Britain
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: pumpkin, terror, bones
Rating: T
Summary: America is scared of Britain’s short temper.
A/N: I’m very sure Britain would never lose it in front of America, but this is my take on how he loses his temper.
America rubbed his face until he could feel the surrounding bones. He was very exhausted and never awoke early from his nap time, but he couldn’t sleep at all that morning because he craved for that pumpkin pie he and Britain had made. He wondered if his brother was also awake or if he had gone out to do work. When he walked towards the stairs, he heard loud noises coming from the kitchen. He also heard his brother’s voice and worried that he was hurt.
As he descended the stairs, he was able to make out Britain’s words.
“Stupid France!” he heard Britain say. “Fuck him and his army. How dare he try to attack again? That bastard better learn to stay away or I’ll be forced to kick is ass until he gets the bloody picture…”. Clanks followed as his furry went on.
America didn’t want to interrupt because he feared his brother would get mad decided to wait until he calmed down.
But Britain continued.
“Maybe I’ll take Canada so he can get the hell out,” now he spoke in a lower voice, but he continued to throw things. “That bloody git better get his napkins ready. He’s dealing with a former pirate and he knows how much fucking damage I can cause. I beat Spain; he should feel threatened by my superiority!”
The noises stopped and he exited the kitchen to find a wide-eyed America sitting on the stairs. He was terror-stricken and no amount of pie would remove his expression. America knew what he meant when he mentioned Canada.
“America…” Britain began as he extended his hand, but America slowly climbed the stairs to evade his temper. “…you didn’t hear that!”
But he did. And it was clear that he needed to cool down before he could face his brother and explain his rant.
Title: LeCharm
Characters: France
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: pumpkin, terror, bones
Rating: T
Summary: France + charm + perverseness = one hell of a Halloween.
A/N: I really wanted to write this out sooner, but I couldn’t. I’m still posting it, though, just because I love France.
France had a way with women and everyone knew it. He was able to make their knees go weak with a single look and he used that to his advantage every chance he go. It did not matter if he had one girl or five in bed as long as he was able to please them and feel pleased himself. Year-round, he would do this, making sure the girls he charmed were not disappointed, but who could be when you had the most romantic and sexual man/country in between your sheets? At least, that’s what France thought.
He applied his skills on Halloween nights ‘trick-or-treating’ with a few women that looked divine in their costumes and rounded them up so they could have a French party. There would be no terror in that atmosphere, no broken bones or scars, just pleasure and France did not want for his women to feel scared or intimidated. He had done this millions of times and it was not going to be any different when the 31st came around. The only pain they would feel is if they were being pressed against a pumpkin, but other than that, he made sure to hold them tight, away from harm.
He was obviously a pervert by default, and showed off his experience when he began his love-making process. Those women dressed like angels would not be after he was done with them, and the women dressed in naughty costumes would have one more experience to add to their resume. His commentsof comfort would always make them all sigh in ecstasy, because after all, it was more about treating than tricking when it came to le’amour, right?
Title: LeCharm Gone Wrong
Characters: France, Britain
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: pumpkin, terror, bones
Rating: T
Summary: Remember that formula I used for LeCharm? Well, it tends to fail at least once every time he uses it.
A/N: This is my take on why France gets questioned by the police every year on Halloween.
Britain waited patiently as France talked to the police. He looked so composed and confident, with his douchy face making that expression of ‘charm’ he thought he had. How could anyone be attracted to a person like him? He was an idiot, who needed a shower, smelled like cheese, and liked sex a little too much, regardless of gender.
However, he had done it again, like he did every year. In his pursuit to taking a girl to bed, she ended up telling on him to the police and here they were, on the side of the street, waiting for the longest ass time to be released from police gazes to return to their trick-or-treating. But France was right; it was not Halloween if he wasn’t being questioned by the police. He was hoping, however, that the cycle would be broken so they could enjoy the bloody night getting some fucking candy instead of wasting time. He didn’t even know why the hell he was waiting for the git in the first place. He should be able to go and fill his plastic pumpkin while France fixed his own bloody problems. But he was waiting to see some terror in the Frenchman’s eyes, some rattling of bones, or some sign of fear, but NO. He was always smug, which in itself was scary as it can be. But Britain knew France would never learn to leave the poor, innocent girls alone, even if he did get thrown in jail for trying to ‘sexually assault’ them with his LeCharm.
Title: The End of the World
Characters: Mexico, other countries
Challenge: 13: Spook
Bonus Words: pumpkin, terror, bones
Rating: K+
Summary: It scared Europe before 1000 AD, and the world in Y2K, but Mexico scared the hell out of the whole world with her Mayan calendar.
A/N: I thought of this because of the fact that my generation lives on YOLO, enjoying life before 12/21/2012, and basically doing stupid stuff that pisses me off. Also, Happy Halloween, everyone!
Not even America’s films of terror could compare to the challenge Mexico had set up, and his pumpkin and apple pies were not enough to calm the world. It was so scary, the entire world was trembling and the countries’ bones were rattling and making such disturbing noises with each movement. They were all desperate and anxious, facing another warning that the world was going to end. Again.
Britain and France were probably the only ones not worried about it all because they had gone through 2 ‘End-of-the-World’ events and survived both of them, or rather, witnessed their absences. They were telling everyone that they shouldn’t worry about any of that stuff because it was just a silly rumor that could not be fully proven. But Spain was not so confident in their talk and believed his sister, who actually had some proof, which scared the hell out of everyone. America’s take on the end of the world was really no comparison to what people had in mind, but Mexico felt it would occur in a similar fashion.
However, Mexico felt like everyone was blaming the end of the world on her, for some reason. Just because the Mayan calendar said so. She didn’t want to scare anyone, and wasn’t really aware of the magnitude of that, so she set out to clarify the meaning of the end of the Mayan calendar. With that she set some countries at ease, starting with herself because it would not be the end of the world. It would just be the end of an era, and a new one would follow, signaling a new beginning, not a final end.
