FullMetal Alchemist 30 Days Meme Challenge Days 1 & 2
I forgot to start this one! Shit! Anyways, onward…
Day 1- How were you exposed to the phenomenon that is Fullmetal Alchemist?
-Well, I was waiting for Inuyasha to come out on adult swim at midnight on July 2, 2007 (because my best friend had told me to watch it) when all of a sudden this blond kid with a stick and a bunch of beakers and chemicals appear instead. I was pissed because I was hoping to sleep at 1 because Inuyasha was an hour long and I had to wait another 1/2 hour to see it.
I was going to turn the tv off and nap for half an hour, but knew that I wouldn’t wake up in time. So, I just watched the 24 minutes of FMA and was hooked, mainly because Ed ripped off his jacket and part of his shirt and my 13 year old brain was so attracted to his body and his jerkiness. If it hadn’t been for that coincidence, I wouldn’t have seen my favorite show and the main reason why I started writing. I owe a lot to FMA. And I’m glad it was before Inuyasha. XD
Day 2- What was the first episode you saw of the series? What were your thoughts then?
-I want to say the first episode I saw was the very first episode of the first anime, but now that I think about it,it was episode 26, Her Reason. I think. I watched the anime in ‘07, but saw a glimpse of it in ‘05. I read the title ‘alchemist’ and related it to magic and all that crap and thought it would be like ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ because of the guy’s hair. BUT I was completely wrong. And I’m so happy for that! I don’t know, though. I know it was episode 26, but the scene that I remember is not in the show, so I don’t know what the fuck it was that I remember, but I definitely remember that I thought Winry was a ditz because of the blonde hair, Al was a macho-man knight, and Ed was a tomboy because of the black clothes and the braided hair.
But I’m just like, “Damn it!”
Why can’t I remember??
