I have a 4.0 for the semester! And I'm so pleased with myself. I was taking a full (plus one) credit load, none of which were slacker classes, doing a lot of reading and reading responses and decent-sized projects, and just having a lot of flipping homework in general. So Reg gave me a cute little Santa mug for Christmas, filled with M&Ms. I ate a few this evening....and remembered my grandma. She used to knit us mittens every winter and mail them to us all the way from Massachusetts, with a package of M&Ms and a $5 bill in each pair. So I had to miss all of my Tuesday classes due to driving my lawyer up to McCall to see the scene of the accident again. I think that I go into "care for other people" mode when the idea of caring for myself is too overwhelming. It's a lot easier to feel sorry for everyone else around me than it is to admit that something might actually be wrong (and legitimately so) with me, and to deal with that, and to be willing to let the people around me help ( Read more... )

So it hasn't been until this last year that I've been comfortable enough with myself to like being alone.
