For some reason my mental image was more like this.

I can see why. In New Zealand we say "dairy" for what Americans would call a corner store or convenience store. Probably comes from the old days when people knew them mainly as places to buy milk and milk products.

Huh! Interesting. Funny how every English-speaking country has its own term for this institution. (Brits would say you're going to the Chemist's.)

Now that term brings visions of medicines, bandaids and bottles full of other health-related stuff to my mind. :)

Well, I made up for it by spending today seeing Megamind, stuffing my face, and reading comic books. That makes up for it, and I've got to lose those pounds. :)
