Ingredients
- Cooked Rice (I'm partial to Uncle Bens 10 minute boil in the bag range)
- Vegies... Whatever you have in the fridge but you MUST have half an onion, any type of full sized onion will do... and frozen green peas... they really are vital for some unknown reason. Tastes ick without them
- Vegetarian bacon substitute (feel free to omit)
- Tamari* or soy sauce
- Tumeric
- Ginger and garlic*
- 1 large Egg
- Oil (Sesame is nice but whatever you have is fine. I wouldn't recommend olive oil)
The Method
- Dice veg and Bacon up into small peices
- Cook egg, stirring constantly in the bottom of a non-stick pan or pot, place to one side and wipe out pot
- Fry onion in some oil
- Add garlic, tumeric and ginger to taste (about a clove of garlic and equal amount of ginger, with a generous shake of tumeric is my favoured amounts)
- Add veg and bacon and cook for a bit until everything is heated through
- Add peas, and rice
- Stir through tamari/soy
- Stir through cooked egg
- Eat
*It takes under 15 minutes including prep, 20 if you're slow with a knife. Remember that the veg is supposed to be mixed through the rice so you want less of it than you have rice.
*For those who don't know: Tamari is a wheat free version of soy sauce.
