1. Take a picture of your bag.
2. Now dump everything out and neatly adjust them, and take a picture (no matter how embarrassing).
3. Talk about the items inside. Detail.
4. Tag 6 people (don't tag the person that was already tagged).
This is my black backpack.
I wear it almost every day. I bought it at Target with the children in Sept. I had a very last minute shopping excursion with the boys which involved me going the day before classes to get all my supplies because I had to arrange this awful schedule for myself because I wasn't able to register for classes until the very last minute. I had to be so last minute because I hadn't returned a book to the library-- story of my life-- due to the fact that I believed that I had returned said book but had instead tossed it in the trunk of my car. Same difference right?
This is the stuff that was in my black backpack.
From left to right.
1. my sunglasses: i use to have one black pair and one brown pair of sunglasses that i bought on the cheap from CVS (i'm not allowed to have expensive sunglasses because i lose or break them ALL THE TIME), but the brown pair was in my car. this is my last pair of sunglasses left so i suppose i'll have to but a new pair or two soon.
2. my keys: i have the keys to my apartment on a little ring with a green tag that has my name and phone number on it (because I also sometimes lose my keys), the key to the art dept at SSC on the ring that has the green bracelet which i bought to help lessen the instances of me losing my keys, the key to the Philbin's house on my Emmanuel College Alumni key chain that also has my CVS extracare card; my Borders reward card; my Shaws card; and my Stop and Shop card, the key to the rental, and my amsterdam (the flag has worn off though) bottle opener.
3. a nail file: this is self explanatory.
4. my flashdrive: it's 1GB. i have my resume, my cover letter, my pre-thesis paper and the Pamela series by John Highmore on it.
5. random pieces of hex hex: Mike had me borrow Hex Hex so I could learn to play it. I played it with the children. The baby, who is not a baby but two, got upset because we were into the game and not including him so he managed to ferret away three pieces of the game which were later discovered by his older brother. However, Mike didn't need those pieces so they've been languishing in an odd pocket in my backpack.
6. my cell phone: it's the new one. i miss my silver slider. it made fairy noises when i opened it. :(
7. a pad of blue lined post-it notes: i've been writing my weekly to-do lists on this pad. i make a lot of lists. i need to write everything down because i'm both busy and forgetful.
8. a pad of yellow post-it notes: this is for marking pages in books. did i mention i'm an english major?
9. a black pen, a blue pen and a highlighter: there should be a pencil too. where did my pencil go? i use this stuff to mark books.
10. Art Journal, Spring 2008: i borrowed this journal from the art dept like three weeks ago because i wanted to read this article on the art of assemblage, but i've been so busy that i've only read the first two paragraphs.
11. Red Riding Hood and the Wolf in Bed by Ann Martin: i got this book from the library today. i'm going to be reading it. i am excited.
12. If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things by Jon McGregor: Jon lent me this book like two weeks ago and i've been reading it, but i'll probably set it aside to read the Red Riding Hood book.
13. my calendar: i bought a two year calendar at CVS yesterday. i've been trying to use my cell phone calendar function, but i'm surprisingly non-digital when it comes to organization. i prefer writing things down for myself.
14. my address book: i bought this at Brookline Booksmith because if i'm not actually losing my cell phone then i'm leaving it home or in the car so i need this in case i'd ever like to call any place other than jess' home. it's also really pretty.
15. my silver iPod Nano: i bought this as a Christmas gift for myself two years ago when i was still riding the T very regularly. did you know i hate the public?
16. my sunblock: i'm outside a lot during the summer so i try to protect myself.
17. my yellow wallet: this is where i keep my debit card, my credit card, my license, my student ids, my multiple library cards, money, and change purse. if i need to, i can also fit my keys, my cell, my iPod, and the address book. It's good if i want to carry all that stuff, but not the backpack.
There's my stuff.
