One of my favourite songs is "Comforting Sounds" by a Danish band called
Mew. A guy I met in HK introduced to me to this band, among others. Thank you, if you're reading this.
It's from their album Frengers, and all the songs on that album are also amazing and fantastic.
I don't feel alright in spite of these comforting sounds you make.

Do you play musical instruments? I used to enjoy a bit of guitaring every now and again, but now in the group house I can't sing without getting ridiculed. It's tragic.

The jury's still out on 'in rainbows' for me. Most of the album is pretty amazing and taken as a whole it stands up pretty strong. A few of the individual tracks don't do much for me, but the point in '15 step' where the guitars join in with the electronic beats is still an 'omg, they're back!' moment. still, the album doesn't quite reach the zenith i was hoping for. in each of the previous RH albums, there's been a pinnacle. I'm still trying to find it here.

One of their songs is called 'Say you miss me', it was so awful when I first heard it. It's probably still awful but I've heard it so many times now, not as sad anymore. Delicious pain.
Have not heard all of the new Radiohead album yet, but I will download it soon enough.

it's missing something, and i haven't been able to put my finger on it yet. i think it's something along the lines of passion (not to be confused with excitement). sky blue sky, for the time being, simply just is, without being anything more.
incidentally, i still think kicking television is one of the better live concerts ever recorded.

Anyway, I like Sky Blue Sky, although, like Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, I get a bit stuck on one song. So by whole album being my obsession, I just mean one song being my obsession :D Seriously though, how can you say it lacks passion after listening to this:
Sorry about the poor quality, but I didn't want you to listen to the whole song before getting to this. In fact, if the whole song was just this I would be incredibly happy. Jeff Tweedy claims that this is the first Wilco album where he is singing straight to his wife.
