One of my favourite songs is "Comforting Sounds" by a Danish band called Mew. A guy I met in HK introduced to me to this band, among others. Thank you, if you're reading this.

It's from their album Frengers, and all the songs on that album are also amazing and fantastic.

I don't feel alright in spite of these comforting sounds you make.

I really like how you dish out free music!

Do you play musical instruments? I used to enjoy a bit of guitaring every now and again, but now in the group house I can't sing without getting ridiculed. It's tragic.

oh i forgot to add that you should totally check out angus and julia stone's debut ep, book like this. it would fall under the category of melancholy. they are an australian brother and sister duo. it was a feature albumn on JJJ.

I still think 'glass kites' is a better album. Frengers has a more popular feel to it, and its songs, while really good, are still relatively simple compared to glass kites. Less goes on, obviously, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.. but as a matter of personal preference, 'glass kites' works better for me. As an album, it flows better too.

The jury's still out on 'in rainbows' for me. Most of the album is pretty amazing and taken as a whole it stands up pretty strong. A few of the individual tracks don't do much for me, but the point in '15 step' where the guitars join in with the electronic beats is still an 'omg, they're back!' moment. still, the album doesn't quite reach the zenith i was hoping for. in each of the previous RH albums, there's been a pinnacle. I'm still trying to find it here.

Wilco's new album is my latest obsession. It's so good it makes me want to cry. You should have a listen. It's wonderfully depressing stuff.

One of their songs is called 'Say you miss me', it was so awful when I first heard it. It's probably still awful but I've heard it so many times now, not as sad anymore. Delicious pain.

Have not heard all of the new Radiohead album yet, but I will download it soon enough.

sky blue sky really hasn't done anything for me yet. in fact, since kicking television, wilco hasn't done much for me in general (fairly heathen-istic, some might say). A ghost is born is probably the last great studio wilco album (for me) and the latest hasn't done much to change that.

it's missing something, and i haven't been able to put my finger on it yet. i think it's something along the lines of passion (not to be confused with excitement). sky blue sky, for the time being, simply just is, without being anything more.

incidentally, i still think kicking television is one of the better live concerts ever recorded.

Wasn't A Ghost is Born the last studio album Wilco did? Did they do another afterwards? I didn't listen to A Ghost is Born much at all, I'm slow at getting through my music.

Anyway, I like Sky Blue Sky, although, like Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, I get a bit stuck on one song. So by whole album being my obsession, I just mean one song being my obsession :D Seriously though, how can you say it lacks passion after listening to this:

Sorry about the poor quality, but I didn't want you to listen to the whole song before getting to this. In fact, if the whole song was just this I would be incredibly happy. Jeff Tweedy claims that this is the first Wilco album where he is singing straight to his wife.

Yeah, I dunno, didn't seem to do much at all... Maybe I'm pressing the wrong thing... But there's a thing that says "DOWNLOAD" and I pressed it and nothing happened.
