Tomorrow, Friday the 23rd, i get to have my head and skull cut open for a time and have a little bit of work done to fix me. I have SOOOOOOOOO many people praying for me, and i can't tell you how much that means to me. I would, however, also feel comfortable if a bunch of people would pray for the SURGEON as well. I got a notice the other day about a tire recall for our FJ Cruiser. I told Jay about it Saturday and he kind of poo-poo'd it thinking that the tires on the Cruiser weren't the originals that were sold with it ( Read more... ) -

Home from the hospital!!
I'm sorry I've not updated until now...I've been spending most of my days at the hospital with Dani, and I've been really exhausted at night ( Read more... ) -
I just talked to Jon Mark (Jay's brother)...
"Gert," as Jay and the family calls him, stayed overnight with Jay. His parents have been keeping vigil around the clock and took turns staying with him each night, and Gert stayed last night. Jay's family is very good at finding the positives in these situations and they always share the lighter conversations...and Jay just says things that make ( Read more... ) -
He's going to be FINE!
He's been talking and moving, drinking and eating (liquid diet), and even managed to sit for 3 hours in a chair. He's VERY weak, VERY drugged--they keep giving him morphine every 2 hours for the pain ( Read more... ) -

Jay, day 2.
My husband was diagnosed yesterday with pneumococcal meningitis. It's a strep-based bacterial meningitis and it's a fatal illness.
You can read about bacterial meningitis here.We have every reason to believe that Jay will respond to the antibiotics and pull through. He's a very strong guy, his vitals are excellent, and he's survived a lot worse ( Read more... )
