Though I must admit I would probably have loved it even more if Anders had come all on his own to rescue him. That's what I at first thought would happen.

Very nice! I love the idea that it was a set up, and even though game didn't go this way at all, it seems like a really good option to be able to go get him back, and sort of demonstrate that Anders' little comment was for some other purpose. That line has always bothered me because, even though it's someone Anders disagrees with, it goes against all that he stands for. I can also buy him having a thing for Fenris and not saying a word about it. It explains, well, a whole lot. And I'm a Fenders fangirl anyway, so, yeah. :)

Also, I like your Hawke. He seems very determined and caring without losing a lot of his other charms. Lovely read on a work break!
