The Loot!

Jan 21, 2006 12:07

So I have stretched my birthday into the better part of a week: lunch on Tuesday, lunch w/ Janine spinning class on Thursday, and dinner on Friday followed by the Polka Cowboys. Plus our Pal Mark is visiting this weekend! Whoo Hoo! It's a good thing. Here are some highlights and The Loot.

The Loot!
Roger gave me a set-up for taking photos of my yarn.

Here it is in it's box. It folds up and has a sturdyish box with a handle. Sweet!

I have such a sweet and thoughtful hubby! Love that man to pieces.

My friends Kimba & Owen gave me this book: The Gallery of Regrettable Food (scroll down to the bottom of the page).

It is full of "yummy" items:

The ever popular Mystery Meats

Fun with gelatin.

Tips from A-1 on keeping your Man happy.

Tips on how to lose friends and offend people. This recipe calls for: mushrooms, green pepper, margerine, condensed cream of mushroom soup, ketchup, milk, american cheese, worcestershire sauce, salt, and eggs. I am still trying to figure out how this is oriental. Is it the milk? the american cheese? or the worcestershire sauce? Perhaps it all comes together when you serve it over rice. Yeah, that's it.

Lunch with Janine
Janine is recovery from surgery on her ankle. I took some Vietnamese sandwiches over and happened to run into Roger who was picking up his lunch in the same neighborhood. Wild! He joined us for lunch and we had a lovely time. Janine gave me some great advice on how I should set up my web site. She is so smart, interesting, and insightful. Thank you Janine!

Polka Cowboys
The Polka Cowboys are a local polka/western swing band that plays every third Friday at the Punjab Palace (serving pizza AND Indian food) in El Sobrante. There is a dance floor and the food is good. We go almost every month. Read about them in the East Bay Express.

Yarn Porn
Some recent yarn.

From left to right: Santa Fe Sunrise, Meyer Lemon, and Candy Shoppe. I haven't set the twist on Santa Fe Sunrise or Candy Shoppe yet, but I thought y'all deserved some fiber. ;-) Thanks to Roger and Mark for help in naming the yarns.
