I have been buying roving by the pound from Deep Color and Carolina Homespun. There is no shipping except for the biodiesel I burn to get there. Deep Color is only two miles from my house. If I do a lot more I may need to get an account for wholesale prices.

Are you talking about the open house next month for felt flowers?

How is the new wheel?

I only bought a few oz from Deep Color...I need to start buying by the pound!!!

I don't drive, so I'm a bit itimidated to get over there by bus. I can take Bart to El Cerrito=then a bus, but the bus thing scares me LOL.

The open house is on this Sunday-for Valentines day. Give her a call and ask about it. I can't go cause of my face stuff tomorro and having to stay out of the sun for 36 -48 hours...but I wish I could go!!!

I go past El Cerrito Plaza BART to get up there. If we are both going to an event or class, I would be happy to pick you up and return you to BART. Email me at miss_maia @ hotail . com.

Yeah, Claudia does that vesper2000 February 9 2006, 23:26:52 UTC
She got me in two silk classes this month and the raw fleece class next month.

Claudia charges pretty good prices for roving, but sometimes you can get fantastic deals on ebay if you keep your eyes open. I bought four pounds of Brown Sheep superwash mill ends for $50.

I like your yellows, Maia. Although, I really like marigold immersion for yellow these days; something nice about dyeing with marigolds. :)

Claudia is good at talking people into classes. If you are at the intermediate spinning class tonight say hi.

Beautiful, very spring like! You know, strangely, considering how much I like dark colors, I like the sand and pale grey/blue one the best. Where do you get your roving?

There are a couple of local shops I'm getting them from right now. I may step up and get a wholesale account or two. We'll see.

The sheen on those is just stunning. I hope you show what they look like spun up! You have a great sense of color, something I'm still working on. I'm afraid of soft colors. My whole being cries out for INTENSE, and I have to remind myself that there are a lot of people out there who like softly colored yarn and roving.

Methinks you have inspired me to brave the wide world of color yet again this weekend. ;)

Cool! It is always good to play and stretch. What kind of dyes do you use? I would love to see what you make.
