Aahjdlhsljf you're such an amazing writer. The chapter was great, as always. I just feel so bad for Jim, what with everything he's gone through. About the wall he's building, will that keep Spock out of his mind completely or just hide the rape? Also, I really like the story, so I'm glad there's going to be a sequel. Will it be anything like the star trek movie (I mean about Bones and how they meet and whether or not they'll be friends)?
Thank you. XD I feel bad for Jim too. It really isn't fair that he has to go through. I suppose life is life though (even if it is the life I created for him), and life always gets worse before it gets better. As for the wall, well, he just put it up around his memories of the rape. It won't keep him out of Jim's mind as a whole, just that one part he doesn't want Spock to see.
I'm really glad you like the story, and that there is so much enthusiasm for a sequel. :) It will incorporate elements of the Star Trek movie. It starts many years before it though. In my version, Jim goes to the Academy right after high school, and in the movie he gets there when he's twenty-two. So, as I have it planned, Jim will get there at eighteen and everyone else will get there when he is twenty-two. That is when he will meet Bones. XD I'm so looking forward to writing it.
Oh, this chapter broke my heart! I love that we are seeing more of Jim's feelings and past, but it hurts to read about the things that happened to him! You wrote the dream very well, in a way that made it seem visceral.
I AM SO GLAD THAT THERE IS GOING TO BE A SEQUEL! I think that it could be good for it to take place a little bit later. Knowing Jim, he could very well be stubborn enough to not let himself show any feelings for Spock (or at least act on any feelings) until he joins Starfleet. I can't really think of specifics right now, but I do know that I would love to see more of the gradual establishment of Jim and Spock's relationship, rather than just skipping to when they are already together.
Oh, and if no other characters intersect with your story, I would love to see Bones.
I do hate putting Jim through so much. :/ I am glad that you enjoyed (not really the right word to use, but I can't think of another one at the moment) the dream scene. It was actually one of the easiest for me to write, as I do very well with extremely emotional scenes for some reason.
Anyway, yes, there is going to be a sequel. I am very excited as well. XD It isn't that Jim won't show his feelings. He might be a bit non-demonstrative, but both of them know they're in love with each other, and they are both going to admit it soon. It's the sexual component that is going to be waiting until the next fic. Jim really isn't ready for that, and Spock is a Vulcan. He isn't going to push for it. They are technically going to be together at the end of this story, but their relationship is going to be rather stagnant for reasons I will expound upon later.
Bones will also be showing up. It will probably take a while, but he will show up eventually. :)
Sad to see the story coming to an end soon, but looking forward to the sequel.
I think it would be great to show their relationship slowly developing at the Academy and Jim learning to trust more. Please include Bones, and I wonder if Jim will ever take down those walls he's currently building, or if Spock will learn the secret behind that wall some other way, at some point.
Thank you. :) It is definitely sad when a story ends, but the sequel just makes me want to get to the end faster so that I can start a new chapter in the lives of Jim and Spock. I'm really excited about it. XD
The relationship is definitely going to develop slowly. Like, slower than it has already been going (which really isn't as slow as it seems, considering the fact that in the story it has only been about three to four months). Well, actually, I suppose I should say that it will be slow in some aspects and not as slow in others... I don't really have it all ironed out yet, so we'll see. :)
Bones will definitely be a big part of the story, though we won't be seeing him for several chapters after it starts (in my current estimations). XD
Thank you so much for reading and commenting. It really, really means a lot to me. :)
Awesome story!cool_beans312January 25 2013, 22:36:09 UTC
Hi, I've been reading your story since it came out, but i finally remembered my password to leave a comment for it -.- I think your story is amazing and original.I like the hurt Jim in your story and the Spock in your story seems legit, the fact that the relationship is forming slowly makes the story more realistic ; ) I think you writing style is crazy awesome and if you were a writer you be a pretty darn great one.
I'm super excited that a sequel is going to be made and I know that it will be awesome what ever you put in it. I think the most things i would want to see in the sequel is definitely Bones (as said several times) and possibly a more possessive( To satisfy my own kink -.-) Spock since he can't be like that with Jim right now for obvious reasons. And also if Gary can be thrown in there to make the plot more interesting, but I don't know its your sequel : D
Anyway I love you story, and you are an amazing author-ess.

Wow! Thank you so much for all of the amazing compliments. I'm glad you're enjoying my story so far. XD I do try to make it as realistic and in character as I possibly can, so once more, thank you for saying so. Feedback from my readers really means a lot to me. :)
I am also very excited for the sequel. I have already outlined about half of it, and it is going to be much longer and go at a much faster pace (although, depending on how you look at it, it could be much slower) than LFSS is. LFSS took place over several months, while the sequel is going to be taking place over several years. Bones is definitely going to be a main character, though he won't be appearing until eight or nine chapters in (that is just an estimate). Possessiveness is also going to be something of a theme, though it isn't just Spock; Jim is going to be very possessive as well.
What should I do with Gary? Truthfully, I have never been a fan of Gary, so whenever I write him, he kinda turns into a bad guy. What kind of appearance did you want him to make?
