they should be. They're YA books. Most borders/barnes and noble have them. The first one's called Alanna: The First Adventure. They're all quick reads, and they are amazing. :D After Song of the Lioness, the next series is The Wild Mage Quartet, then the Protector of the Small Quartet, then the two Alianne books, Trickster's Choice and Trickster's Queen. Then the prequels, the Beka Cooper trilogy.
She also has another universe which is equally as awesome, but I feel like I'm overwhelming you.
I found the first book at my library, and it looks like between all the branches in the area I should be able to get the entire series. I'm excited to start reading!
Thank you! Nah, not weird at all. :) Oh yeah when I was 12 I was all about Alanna and John and now when I reread I'm like holy crap, wow they'd be a terrible couple!
As for Chris Pine, pfft, just because he's awesome doesn't mean he wouldn't look more awesome getting punched in the face by Katee Sackhoff!
But yes, definitely. I vote Tamora Pierce opens a school for how to write YA literature correctly. Because so much YA literature either panders to the idea that all 12 year old girls want is lipstick and kissing, or it's completely condescending.
Nah, Jon was a pretty huge asshole from In The Hands of the Goddess all the way through to the end of Woman Who Rides Like A Man, but he turned out to be a pretty good king, so I forgive him his asshole years.
I agree. Fiction in general seems to want women to be stuck in a role. Virgin or whore. Maiden, mother or crone. I love how Tamora Pierce just transcends that. She creates these characters that are so intensely real that 8 years after I first read her books, I still reread them all the time. I feel like I know them. If that's not creepy or weird.

I love posts like this. Even though I haven't read the stories, I just love casting actors for books.
