I wrote most of my exchange letter, but spent more time on it than planned and didn't quite finish it. Tomorrow, though! (And just in case my writer sees this, I'm sorry for the delay. ;_;)

continued to work on jukebox. I think I have it mostly sorted out. I am finding this story to be extremely difficult somehow. The prompt asked for worldbuilding and I wound up with an omniscient narrator who somehow makes me incredibly uneasy. I am not sure where in me this voice is coming from. The other characters are all fine but none of them are nearly as good as the characters from the jukebox story I wrote last year.

Omniscient narrators are indeed difficult, I feel -- good luck with it!

I don't really have a ton of experience with omnicient narrators. And, I am not really sure if what I am doing is technically that anyway. Basically, I am bouncing around between a couple of characters POV (a bad habit of mine) because the recip asked for worldbuilding and these three character range from having no real understanding of how to world works, to a very limitted understanding. The other voice that I drop in from time to time, knows exactly how the world works. I use that voice not to explain much, but to come in and make commentary. The problem I am having with this voice is that the commentary is so cutting, so angry, I am just having a hard time reconciling that with any oart of ME that is making the comments. If that makes sense.

Tbh I think getting to write cutting, angry commentary that isn't related to myself in any way sounds kind of fun, but I understand the complications. *g*
