A few questions that I need to know...

1. How you could ever hurt me so...

2. Please will somebody explain the appeal of Spooks? Several people whose opinions I respect tell me it's the most exciting thing on TV, but whenever I try to give it a chance, it seems like the most dreadful tripe. I don't really understand TV though so I'm prepared to accept a decent explanation of why I'm ( Read more... )

Oh good, welcome back! I edited all my swears in case that was what your computer objected to.

I ate a sandwich in the Morleeeey College canteen yesterday and it made me feel a bit funny! Please do something about this.

was it the sandwich that made you feel funny or the canteen? also was it a morley sandwich or did you bring your own?

Fifties retro is easy - just wear a big skirt, a T-shirt and a scarf tied round your neck (not the winter kind! And tie your hair in a ponytail if it will go. I can lend you a great polkadot skirt if you want.

Ooh, maybe - would it fit a size 14-16 person?

Not sure, I think it is probably a 12 - but you are not a size 14-16 person anyway, surely!

I am a 14 now so I can see if it fits me later.

Lots of people have given you idea for 50s retro already, but if you need to borrow clothes, I have a very 50s polka-dot dress you could borrow. Team with a t-shirt and sneakers with short white socks. I also have a big poufy net shirt you can wear under any circle-type skirt - very authentic :-)

I've never seen Spooks, doesn't appeal at all.

Sorry, poufy net SKIRT, not shirt!

I'm glad you and kiss_me_quick have given me the same advice - that gives me some clear guidelines to follow! I don't really want to wear a dress, but nor do I want to own any item of clothing with polka dots on it, so I will bear your offer in mind. Thanks!

I have a couple of silk scarves that will go with the outfit too :-)

Spooks? Rubs more like.

There was a long thread on Popular recently full of scurrilous talk about Mike Read! You might learn some facts there. Except I can't remember which song sparked it off...

Ah, I've found it! On the Buggles post...

Perhaps I'll tell him that I read his book about The Shadows on a plane last year, and although I enjoyed it very much, some Salvation Army officers sitting in my row gave me a disparaging look for reading it!

I think the hardest pop quiz I've been to so far was the Freaky Trigger one, and we didn't come last in that, so that gives me hope...
