Adventures in transit.

Anyway, I went on holiday a few weeks ago, and I'd better write it up before I forget it completely. I do recommend holidaying in November, by the way - it definitely takes the edge off the slow descent into winter. Though it was a bit confusing to leave before daylight saving had really kicked in, and come back to find it suddenly being dark and ( Read more... )

Do it! I felt much better for going away and making myself have an adventure. Though next year I'll go somewhere which doesn't involve flying halfway round the planet...

Oh lovely!

I wish I was feeling brave enough again to do more of this. Super jealous!

How exciting. The best thing about travelling is reflecting on how exciting it all was once you're back and don't actually have to leave the house again for a year or two.

Not so much for me, I've never really liked staying at home all day, but I was very relieved at being able to choose for myself when I could eat and sleep again. They kept turning the lights off on the plane in the middle of the day to encourage us to go to sleep! I got quite cross about this!

PS Do you have any easy hat patterns that you could recommend? I would like to knit a woolly hat that isn't far too big for me or a weird shape, just for once, but I asked Ravelry and they kept telling me to do cabling. I don't want to do cabling!

Not that you are asking me, but I have made this hat three times now and I think it is super. And you feel dead clever for making such an oddly constructed thing, but it super easy, all garter stitch and at the end you sew it up.

I love my washbag of kimchi and HOT red pepper paste! Hurrah!

The last Star Trek TNG I watched featured a MAD SCIENTIST who downloaded himself in Data, so Data got to do that awful smirking thing he does whenever he is playing a human. What an acting range, actor-who-plays-Data!

WHAT WHAT EPISODE IS THIS we haven't seen it, I don't think! Oh Data. Have you seen Data playing his evil twin brother? It is complicated for the actor because he is evil but also still an android.

(Also, that is an excellent hat.)
