Afternoon LJ-world and happy Sunday:

A couple of weeks ago, I went someplace I´ve been wanting to go for quite a long time: SALZBURG! I suppose like most other people, I basically wanted to go because of two reasons: Mozard and Sound of Music. And I did get both. Here we go:

Ahhh, Salzburg! Looks surprisingly similar to when I was there, about 20 years ago! And we did the Sound of Music tour (or a SoM tour as well:)) Nice place.

I think that tour is a classic, my mother did it about 20 years ago too and I´ve been wanting to do it ever since she talked about it :o)
A very nice place, but oh so quiet... completely dead after 10 pm.

It really was :o) The songs were stuck both before and after - the "Edelweiss" sing-along on the bus gave me gooseflesh!

Those are GORGEOUS! Love it! Sound of Music is one of my all-time favorite musicals. Mom and I were thrilled because our little local movie theater is doing a couple of specials and showing The King and I (another one of my faves) and Sound of Music in the next couple of weeks. I think we're going to have a couple of "girls days" and go see them together.

And getting to see where Mozart lived? AWESOME. I love Mozart. I learned a few of his easier pieces when I first learned how to play the piano.

I'm right with you when it comes to cathedrals/old churches. I just love them. It's part of the reason that I would love to go to Europe someday. There's so much history there! :)

Same here :o) I grew up with SoM because my mum loved it as a child too. We tend to go and see musicals together too. Lovely, isn´t it?!

I love Mozart too, my fave composer along with Tchaikovsky.

Hope you get to come to Europe soon!

Gorgeous photos. It looks every bit as beautiful as I imagined and I am of course deeply, deeply jealous. :P I can't believe you got to see all those lovely Sound of Music sites, I would have been in musical-geek heaven. I'm hoping that you broke into enthusiastic song at some point too.
It really does look like a fab trip and I'm really glad that you had such a great time. :)

Yups I did, been wanting to for ages. It´s a lovely city, unless you go there for the night life, then it´s a bit... dead after 10pm. But no matter :o)

It does look very picturesque. I've wanted to visit Salzburg for years so it's nice to see your lovely pictures as it looks every bit as pretty as I imagined.

I'm think thanks. I've been kinda shoddy when it comes to getting online of late.

I´m very well thanks, enjoying the summe whilst nursuring my XC withdrawals... :o) What have you been up to in your online absence then? We must catch up!
