I always had an interest in creative writing, in school I got an award (called an Acorn Award because the school was called The Oaks) for a poem I wrote about snow.
I've always watched a lot of soap operas and when I got that little bit older (in high school) I used to come up with ideas of what I wanted to happen. They were always quite dramatic stories that I came up with in my mind. So I started writing them in my head and eventually noted a few down.
I started writing 'properly' when I was 16, I joined a message board for the singer Delta Goodrem and I started writing fanfiction with a group of people. It was about the little community we'd built up as much as the writing itself. But it was a springboard into being something I loved. The more I did that the more I enjoyed it.
And the rest, as they say, is history...
Now on to you; how long have you been part of fandoms and which was your first fandom?
Ouch, that's an hard one... the first proper fanfom I've been part of had been about the Marvel comic books, whan I was 13 and there wasn't any Marvel movie out yet. I was a very avid follower of forums and communities, even if I didn't reach my fullest potential until the age of 18, when I got obsessed. I've almost completely abandoned the marvel comic books now- just few things every now and then, I've became quite selective, but thanks to them I've been into fandoms for almosr 16 years.
How do you choose what books to read? Do you stick to certain authors or genres? (It's kind of two but in my mind it's an extension of the question...)
I'm really bad with choosing books. I know what I like and yet, I get really frustrated because I usually can't find something just right. I judge books by their covers because usually I'm right, I also avoid the majority of books by men because I haven't been able to read 90% of books by men that I've tried. It's odd I know. I like to look at what my favourites authors have available (i.e. still got a few Jodi Picoult books left to read) and I also like to just browse a book shop, looking at books for hours until I've found one or not found one. I'm trying to be better and have a go, but I've bought so many books I've never read that I worry it'll be the same. But this year I've forced myself to read two books I didn't enjoy as much as others, simply because I bought them. Instead of leaving them to the dust bunnies which I usually do
( ... )
I definitely need to start reading through the backlog of books I have on my bookshelves. I'm really bad at buying books because they catch my eye and then never read then, so good on you for making your way through a few you weren't a fan of
( ... )
I think it's very easy to end up with a bookshelf of stories you don't read! I must admit, one of the two stories I did enjoy, it was just a bit scarier than I would have liked. The other one, well, I thought it was terribly written!
That sounds like you have some big plans there! I think I understand what the job entails, I feel like I've met someone who does that/follow him on Twitter. He's never specifically said that's his job title but he always seems to be the one who sorts out interviews, etc. It sounds like quite an exciting role to have, like you're kind of part of the film but you're also kind of part of the audience in a sense.
So does that mean you did your dissertation on Marvel? That's awesome!
Being able to turn to God in times of trouble is definitely a great comfort. I'm a bit confused about some of the issues between religion and state, so I can't really say anything about that. It's terrible indeed when people fight each other over religion, and I'm positive that's NOT what God wants from us. Religion should be about love and understanding, and people should always be respectful regardless of their faith or lack thereof. One thing that quite irks me is when people make fun of religion. I'd rather have an atheist who disagrees with religious views rather than people who randomly criticize things they know little to nothing about.
(I'm going to answer your question in a separate comment instead.)
That's how I feel about it is - not necessarily the bit about God not wanting that from us, but I understand that viewpoint. Why would God want that? It would be barbaric to want anything like that. I think people hide behind religion and they act like religion is a justification for their prejudice. When other people have no trouble separating some of the things written in the Bible (for example) from how they feel about the situation.
I'd rather be an atheist who disagrees than to make fun of it. I will admit that I have made fun of religion - but it's only when a person makes fun of atheism. There's this part of the Yahoo website called Yahoo! Answers and there are some very frustrating people on there who ask silly questions about atheism, so I sometimes give silly answers back. I think that goes with the idea of, give respect to get respect. They haven't respected me so I won't respect them. Though generally I try to, even if they do have silly comments. Lol.

I think you're a lovely girl with a lot to give and that you are really developing on your writing, something that in time will really grow even more!
What subjects do you like to study at school? And what is it about them that you like?
