I have a business-related question I'd like to put forth to you all. When using patterns, would you rather keep the costs low and potentially have to tape larger pieces together for yourself, or would you prefer larger pieces to be on a single sheet of paper, even if it means a significant price increase for the pattern ( Read more... )

I'd personally tape them together. I've had to do that for some larger patterns even from companies with big printers. So it doesn't bother me in the least :)

Do you print to order? If you do, just give the buyer an option-- if they are willing to give you extra money to drive to the big printer, take their money! Just make sure the price is high enough to cover your time and labor to do that, not just the printing cost.

Or, you can do what Margo Anderson does, and have one of the Big Three companies print it for you-- but that only works if you are printing hundreds at a time.

I personally hate to piece patterns, I'd be the one paying you extra so I don't have to do even more work than I'm already doing!
