Freezer Burn: Codename Pandora

Jun 18, 2014 11:51

I more or less finished the Freezer Burn series around Christmas. There was a tiny coda in January, but the last big story, Revenant, was completed right in time to be blitzed by Yuletide fic. (My timing, it is terrible.) And I thought I was done because the series arc completes nicely -- nobody's in trouble, everyone's in from the cold, healing is ( Read more... )

That last snippet is marvelous! I do love Miranda, and the idea of Clint in one of Pepper's dresses had me giggling.

The first one was the snippet I was asking about yesterday.

Clint would suggest Bucky, except that would be bodily harmful. He might tell Sam it's rookie hazing, though...

Well, some stories tend to write themselves:).

By the way, the way I see it, Revenant ended just in time to be my birthday present:).

Back to the latest piece - it's good to see Miranda! (and I liked Corrales mentioned in the Sam's one:)). Plot is getting scarier and scarier, though I really liked that line about private apocalypse:). I guess Steve is still officially dead there? I wonder if Bad Guys know the truth, or if they are in for a big surprise:).

Captain America coming back from the dead one way or another would be part of such a story, yes. (I have no details on how, just that it would.)

Oh, you can retroactively put in a claim on Revenant if you'd like. ;)

Oh my gosh, sweetie! I really hope this story continues nipping at your heels to write it. I love seeing your take on the fall of Shield. As sad as it is to think of Peggy being gone I'm glad she doesn't have to see part of her life's work so corrupted.

These snippets were wonderful! :)

Thank you!

I would have to do a bit of work to re-imagine the implosion of SHIELD in a universe where HYDRA is already a known threat and a familiar foe, but, more than that, I still go back to whether this is a story that needs to be told.

HYDRA has many heads - one of them split off, one embedded itself in SHIELD?

Especially if HYDRA-in-SHIELD had a name change; your HYDRA works for me better than AoS/WS's embedded one - yours spun itself to appeal to people who weren't exactly idealists, and AoS in particular seemed to have a SHIELD that was all about idealism - at least until we got Ward's backstory.

A renamed HYDRA would have a better chance of attracting the idealists who have access to Google search engines - "of course I wouldn't support *Nazis* - wait, I joined *what*?"

Yay, Miranda!

And also yay Sam. :)

I think he picked that one up from his starlets, which makes the extra dash of innocence all the more counter-intuitive.
