After I finished the commentary toward the five words given to me by
somniumweb,
quorothorn provided me with five more. The new words are: Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Maiko [alternatively WARINESS], hivemind effects, adorable Pokemon [Mew, Pikachu], and enthusiastic userpics.
The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy:
I was a child that grew up on cartoons, so it’s no surprise that I stumbled across The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy some time in my life. That wasn’t what it was called when it first aired, however. It was a joint show called Grim & Evil that had both a fifteen-minute piece starring Billy and Mandy, and then a fifteen-minute piece starring an evil brain called Evil Con Carne. I remember them both quite well.
I guess Billy and Mandy hit it off well while Evil Con Carne garnered lesser reviews, because after a while the shows split apart and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy was born. Can’t say what it was that appealed to me in the show, but I watched it diligently nonetheless. It became even funnier when I introduced my friend to it in high school and we then made it a habit to watch the new episodes together. Some things are just all the more funny when you watch them with friends that share your sense of humor.
Spongebob Squarepants is a show I quote quite often, but only because it’s more prevalent than The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. I have just as many quotes from TGAOBAM for occurrences in life; however, no one would get them unless they’d seen the show. Sad day.

Maiko:
Believe what you want, but I think Maiko is one of the more sexy ships in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe. Zuko and Mai fit together so perfectly in my mind. Not to mention that their relationship is canon. I respect the creators, Mike and Bryan, enough to respect any arrangements they make in the show. It’s their show after all. That’s not to say that other ships aren’t all right--I ship Tokka for goodness sake; but overall, what the creators say, goes.
Zuko didn’t become one of my favorite characters until the second season, and Mai didn’t become one of my favorite characters until she showed some development and went and saved Zuko’s life in "Boiling Rock". I find the two of them to be the most complex individuals in the entire show. With that in mind, the fact that they became a couple makes sense to me. I admit some of their "love scenes" were extremely cheesy and hard to watch at times ("You’re so beautiful when you hate the world." Oh my globs, what was that?); however, I appreciate their relationship and how they complete each other. Mai’s the only one that seems capable of keeping Zuko in his place.
What really cemented their companionship for me was when I started writing fanfiction involving the two of them. I found that their chemistry practically wrote itself.
"[alternatively WARINESS]":
"I resent that comment!"

Hivemind effects:
Oh, Quo. I don’t really know what to say to this one.
Since we first met,
quorothorn and I have been blessed with the Borg-like ability to hivemind. We have such similar interests, speech patterns, and apparently thought patterns, that it would seem only natural that we often find ourselves saying the exact same thing at the exact same time. I am not over exaggerating on this.
The first time this hivemind "ability" manifested itself was in capslock_atla chat. I remember the night well, and I also remember the severe laughter that was involved with it. I wish I could find the log for it to show everyone. It was creepy to the point that everyone in chat was flipping out about it and shouting at us to stop; as if we could help it. From then on the frequency of the hivemind occurrences increased. I have no doubt we’re doing it right this moment without even realizing it.

Adorable Pokemon [Mew, Pikachu]:
What can I say? I love adorable Pokemon, especially the bird types. Pikachu is a given, what with him being one of the first Pokemon we were ever introduced to in the show, and Mew can’t be defined as anything but "absolutely adorable".
I actually have a large reason as to why I am drawn toward Mew so much, and it began many years ago.
Because of my extremely hyperactive, naïve, adorable, and overly-cheerful personality back in middle school and high school, my friends came to associate me with the Pokemon Mew. Even online people would refer to me as "Mew Shea" without my ever having told them my background of having been deemed Mew-like.
Where do you think "Miss_Sanguine" came from? One of the said internet friends, who happened to be very into the four humors, decided that my dominating humor was sanguine.
san-guine
adjective
1. cheerfully optimistic, hopeful, or confident: a sanguine disposition; sanguine expectations.
2 (in old physiology) having blood as the predominating humor and consequently being ruddy-faced, cheerful, etc.
It kind of stuck, hence my having used it for a username.
I’d even draw myself as a Mew when doing drawings of myself with friends. For example:
Over time my personality calmed down quite a bit, and I’m not nearly as naïve and overly-cheerful as I used to be, but Mew still holds a special place for me. (That isn’t to say that I’m still not as immature as I used to be. :P )

Enthusiastic userpics:
Well, like I said: I’m still a Mew at heart. I tend to be a bit overdramatic about things to make them funnier--at least on the internet. Boring icons are... boring. No one wants that.
I enjoy making others laugh:it’s a severe hobby of mine, and what better a source to use to make others laugh than an overdramatic icon in response to something they’ve said? I believe in putting passion behind anything you do. That way people will be interested despite themselves. There’s a huge difference between: "Birds are cool" and "OMG BIRDS ARE SO AWESOOOOME". Which one catches your attention the most?
That’s all I really have to say about my "enthusiastic userpics". :3
