De grote donorshow.

And if the foreign powers didn't loathe us enough already with our drugs, gaymarriage and all the ususal suspects, our own station BNN will be broadcasting a show where a terminally ill woman is promising her kidneys to one of three patients in a gameshow-setting.Now they REALLY must think out there that we're the Sodom & Gomorra of Europe. I didn't even realize it is an Endemol-production, till you mentioned it. (I looked it up.)

And yeah, you're right. But sometimes I've had quite enough of those pointy fingers, even if they're far besides the truth. I guess it's just human nature to want to 'fit in'. ;)

You mean this ísn't Sodom & Gomorra? O.o

Personally I think some shows just go a bit too far, I mean, although I like what they're trying to achieve, I don't think this is the right way to do it. Can't judge until I've seen it though.

And everyone will one way or the other judge other countries anyway, be it positive or negative, so I can't really be bothered what the foreigners think ;) (Not productive to care too much about these things, I have better things to do than that :P Although it is interesting. And funny to contradict some general ideas.)

I have a feeling I'm kinda not making that much sense, you must forgive me, since I kinda have a brainmeltdown atm.

*Goes back to not thinking*

lol

I have faith in Patrick though, he has a lot of experience on making programs about dying people.

it seems like a strange way to get the public's attention on the issue of organ donation. but sometimes outrageous or off the wall stunts are the only way to wake people up. i've talked to people about organ donation over the years. trying to urge everyone to become organ donors, as i have been one since i was about 19 years old and could indicate it on my driver's license. some of the people that have declined to become organ donors are afraid that if they need serious medical care, that doctors won't do their best because they will see that the patient is an organ donor and would rather use their organs than to save their life. which is completely stupid, if you ask me.

if anything, other countries (especially the US) could learn a thing or 2 from you guys.

Yeah, off the wall stunts is BNN's specialty. The stuff they pulled off before... you wouldn't believe it. :)

I guess I shouldn't be so sensitive to the critique, but it seems like we always get a lot of it.

Hey, thanks for the compliment.

the funny thing is, this morning i saw something on the morning news program that i watch that mentioned the donor show. of course, they were all shocked and scandalized. but, they'll forget about it in a month (if that!) and go on to complain about something else.

americanz r teh dum!

Well, it's a thankful subject for a morningshow; nothing tastier than kidneys for breakfast. :P
I saw that coming. I bet they haven't taken the effort to contact a spokesperson and were just hammering away without context. *sigh*

If any, they're far from dom; declaring a witchhunt is most of the times excellent for the ratings! :)
