Hmm what are some ideas for a radio story about zines, in particular women's music zines? I have to write a 500 word proposal today... for a radio feature story. I think I will do it on Pretty Ugly zine but I don't know what specifically I want to explore, so if anyone at all has any ideas please say so ( Read more... )

i guess you could always stick to regular topic discussion format and go into a bit of history too, which would, i suppose, stem into being what motivates people into creating their own zine.

you mean ask lots of ppl what they think? sounds ok, yeah that would make it more colourful. i think i will do it on why ppl do zines, in general. cool thanks for your input

im sure ive seen a history on zines on the internet before, cant find it now though.. sorry i cant be of more help :)

yeah there are a few of those sort of things around, and a lot of instruction kinda websites so it should be cool :)

Just a thought... I actually had a lecturer try and talk about zines when she'd never even seen one... don't know where it might lead but it might lead somewhere.

i think talking about zines in how they connect strangers to one another, more intimetly than books possibly can could be a good angle..?
they can start movements, ie riot grrl, or be personal and cathartic.
feel free to interview me about my zine, i can't believe i haven't given u a copy yet.
