What did you think of The English Patient? I saw the film and bought a used copy of the book, which I then forgot to read. ;-D (I think I gave it away, too, in the last move. So, I rather hope you tell me you hated it so that I won't feel bad for getting rid of it! But if you did enjoy it, that would be good, too, as I'd hate for you to have spent hours being miserable merely so that I don't have to feel regret!)
Go buy another used copy, stat!miss_thropeJanuary 13 2007, 07:21:54 UTC
It is a lovely, lovely book.
And now having read it, I can say the film is a very fine adaptation. I cannot find fault with the changes made changes, since they made sense for a 2-hour movie. I do highly recommend the novel, though. Some sentences will linger in my mind for a lifetime, I think.
