Just thought I'd do a quick post with the movies I saw in 2011! I've got all the super hilarious superlatives under the cut as well (best, worst, weirdest place I watched a movie, The Sweetest Thing award for I Can't Believe I Sat Through That, etc). Beat last year's record by 8 movies!
The movies on here are those I saw for the first time in 2011; goes Title/Date/Format. I have a Quickflix subscription shared with my mum which is to thank for the amounts of Blu-Rays/DVDs, and I never see movies in cinema for full price. We only go on Tuesdays when it's $10 a ticket, or to cheap promotional screenings.

Superlatives:
Worst movie I saw on TV this year: TWILIGHT! I know that's an unoriginal answer but I honestly did sit through Twilight from beginning to end and it is amazingly bad. Or Bedtime Stories, also amazing bad. Adam Sandler, much like Nickelback, needs to stop.
Best movie I saw on TV this year: Bridge To Terabithia, oddly enough. It's a kid's movie but actually really heartfelt and sad.
Most overrated movie: Nobody in The Kids Are Alright should have been nominated for anything! Inception is confusing and long! Never Let Me Go's premise is overshadowed by a love triangle!
Unique movie viewing locations: I flew to Ireland via London and back in July and watched The Next Three Days and All Good Things on the plane as well as rewatching Rango. In the second week we got a really lazy teacher who spent the afternoon showing us various cinematic adaptations of James Joyce's works on a projector. Fine with me!
Most obscure movie: I would say Animal Kingdom being an Australian independent production, but Jacki Weaver got deservedly nominated for an Oscar so I guess you can't call it obscure. So I'll say Tornado Alley, the 45 minutes 3D IMAX documentary about tornado chasers, or Perfect Blue which is a Japanese anime from the mid-90's about a movie star being stalked. It's hilarious too because the lead character has to have someone teach her how to use a computer and doesn't know what the internet is LOL.
Best film seen in cinema: Black Swan!
Movie I thought I would enjoy, but didn't: The Kids Are Alright. I have real problems with this movie, you guys.
The Sweetest Thing award for I Can't Believe I Sat Through That: Can we get worse than last year's Life As We Know It? Honestly, no, but Bedtime Stories was still pretty insufferable.
Movie I didn't actually watch to the end but included on this list anyway: Restrepo, and skipped through quite a bit of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Movie I only watched because of hot people: Brothers (Gyllenhaalenhoogen), Slither (Nathan Fillion), Whatever Works (Evan Rachel Wood), Chloe (vaguely lesbian Amanda Seyfreid), Midnight In Paris (Rachel McAdams)
Notable Shit from 2010 I haven't actually seen yet: Basically everything that hasn't made it here yet - The Artist, Martha Marcy May Marlene, My Week With Marilyn, The Descendants, blah blah blah
Scary foreign movies: Perfect Blue (Japan), Animal Kingdom (Australia), Happy Feet (the ocean idk)
Funniest movie I saw this year: Bridesmaids!
Scariest movie I saw this year: Slither, though more gross than funny, and All Good Things because it plants the idea in your head that if you marry Ryan Gosling HE WILL KILL YOU AND HIDE YOUR BODY. YOU DID THE RIGHT THING RACHEL MCADAMS.
The Worst Movie I Saw This Year: Twilight lol
Honourable Mentions: Bedtime Stories, Slither, Brothers, Gnomeo and Juliet
The Best Movie I Saw This Year: Rise of the Planet of the Apes. You think just by reading the title it's terrible, but it benefits from a VERY well-written screenplay and a pretty amazing motion capture performance from Andy Serkis (yes, he of Gollum fame) as Caesar le Ape.
Honourable Mentions: Black Swan, The Social Network, Rango, Toy Story 3, Marie Antoinette, How To Train Your Dragon, Winter's Bone
