We went to Santa Monica today and while we were walking aroung these girls came up to us and showed us a stupid optical illusion and then asked if they could talk to us. It turned out they were with some Christian missionary group. They asked if we thought we were good people, and we said yes. Then they said they would ask us three questions and

Missa, I think that you are the BEST christian EVER and I LOVE you. you are totally right about those girls, those people are the reason why I dont go to church. but on the bright side, people like you are the reason a lot of people DO go to church.

and man, about the standing up for yourself, you gotta try it at leat once. even if you have to call back later and "I know its way past the time when this would be easy, and I know that now will have to defend my position a lot more by waitng so long, but you hurt me and heres how and I need you to know that and acnowlege it and maybe even apologize." Defending yourself and standing up for yourself is such a liberating, empowering feeling. I say do it.

Man I hate that. It makes everyone who participates in organized religion look like idiots. I wish you had asked them all those things you mentioned on lj.

I don't know what your talking about not standing up for yourself, but if there is one thing I've learned this semester is that it's not worth your time to put up with people who don't treat you the way you should be. And the way you should be treated is probably even better then the way you think you should be treated. Like Mon said, it's very liberating to stand up for yourself.

What I have was so great and right now it just isnt but I did stand up for myself and I got my apology and it's starting to change back.
