Fishie cupcakes!
Here she is tinting the frosting blue....
...and piping on little fishie eyes.
I used green apple fruit leather to cut out leaf shapes to make kelp.
Here is a finished kelp piece.
We baked chocolate cupcakes and dipped the tops in slightly warm blue frosting for a smooth surface.
The crumbs/sand is actually made from crushed up vanilla wafers.
After that was done, the only thing we had left to do was add the kelp and the fishies, and some little air bubbles.
This one is me and Christopher. I am the one with the funny eye. :) You can't tell because my camera phone is bleh, but there is a wee heart above them.
After I was done with these guys, I took some over to April's house. They all (Ryan, April, Sydney, & Christian) really like them. They were most impressed with the kelp.
Ryan asked like 3 times if it was edible, and laughed when I told him what it was. He ate the kelp first.
They were super easy and super fun. I can't wait to make them again.
Now all I need is an excuse. :)
