Maxis Make-overs Master Post!

Dec 31, 2020 00:01

When I first uploaded a few Riverblossom Hills make-overs, I really didn't expect it to turn into the ...project it has. But yeah, I rather like doing this! I'm focusing on the community lots of most of the hoods (except for Strangetown and Pleasantview at this stage, as they seem to get the most love). Haven't touched Belladonna Cove or the ( Read more... )

I've been lurking here for a while now and just tonight I downloaded a whole ton of your Bluewater Village lots that I hope to use for a story I've set in that town. I must say, they are perfect, and I hope you don't mind if I add you. :)

I'm also curious - do you have any plans for some of the buildings and lots that maxis puts in the lots & houses bin? I would love to see some of those done over.

Anyways, thanks so much for all your hard work, and I really, really love what you've been doing! :)

Thank you so much - hope you enjoy the Bluewater make-overs (posted Amelia's Closet the other day, and still have a few to upload).

I hadn't actually thought of making over the sim-bin lots - but do you have any in particular you'd like made over? I could take a look :)

Thanks again <3

Don't feel like you need to just because I mentioned them, but I would love to see Nerissa's own clothing store and the Bluewater Shopping Mall redone. :)

I think I finished installing all of the Bluewater lots last night. Thanks again for all your hard work! :D

Once I get over my defaulting spree, and get some more Bluewater Village lots done I'll definitely look at them (particularly the Bluewater Shopping Mall!). Thank you so much for your lovely words <3

This Master Post is amazing, and so are all the MMOs! I just decide to start a fresh with a new hood and have been filling it up with an assortment of your lots.

Have you ever done MMOs of the vacation lots? I've never seen anyone attempt them before.

Thank you for commenting! Hope you enjoy them :)

And I have been considering making over a vacation hood - I know a couple of the lots have been done by a few people, currantpotpie has some Takemizu Village make-overs.

First off, your replacements are wonderful, very creative and pretty! Very inspiring actually. So I would like to try to make some on my own...
DishoftheDays tutorial says (in the very beginning) :
"So start up your Bodyshop and hit recolor when you find something you'd rather live without. Let's call it 'testpiece'. Now click import. We just want to get the piece in you savedsims folder, so it's easily tracable."
And I'm puzzled, my Bodyshop don't seem to have a recolor function, or import...? Have I been playing a demo for; years?! Or are I stoopid?

No, I think it just isn't worded right. Here is the process I use, with a pic -

Click -
Create Parts
Start New Project
Create Clothing

Then, find the outfit you want to replace -
Click 'Export Selected Textures' - pic here

Hope that helps!

Aha, but I've tried that and I couldn't find it in the savedsims folder. Bummer.

A good idea is to clear out your saved sims folder before-hand if you have a few things in there. At least that makes finding things easier. I believe they are also saved to the 'projects' folder as well, so you could try there.

That bit is only to find the name of the item you are wanting to change, so if you know what it is, then you can skip that step.
