I'm back from a week in Seattle! And what a difference a week makes! The sky is much lighter already in the morning. Though I'm still having issues with taking a picture that is not blurry. I keep trying different settings but can't quite seem to get good results. At some point there should be enough light it won't be a problem. In the ( Read more... )

I think I finally found the setting that will take non-blurry pictures of my tree! Today's results were better.

I know nothing about plants and trees but my biologist friend tells me it's a Live Oak. My smart ass response was something like "as opposed to a Dead Oak?" but I was properly educated that there is such a tree as a Live Oak.

I've actually heard of Live Oaks - some of the very large old ones I've seen in Savannah, GA are that variety and I believe the gigantic ones in the UK are too. There is also a Pin Oak - not sure what the difference is (without a Google search).
