How important is it to my life: It's not. Although the in-laws like to watch sports when they visit.
Broken TV?: We do use it to watch DVDs, but not often - Spud likes to poke buttons on the DVD player, which wreaks havoc with viewing. I believe it goes for months at a time without use these days.

I don't have a TV connection, so my TV watching doesn't exist per se. Now, I do watch movies and I watch things online.

It's not.
What would you do if the TV was broken for two weeks?
Easy. Online :) But if my PC is broken, that's not the end of the world either. My sound on my PC was broken for over a month, so no watching of anything, no game trailers or youtube videos either. I read a lot more, and actually got some more housework done.
