it's not just Canadians, sanface. The entirety of the capitalist world leads to this bullshit. Che Guevara once said something along the lines of "To me, socialism means the abolition of exploitation of man by man". I've got to agree with him, because there's no real reason that one person should be able to openly manipulate another to whatever the chosen absolute case will be. One of his stories was about the poor of South America being raped by the power-holding American corporations, your story involves this man and the girl. Too many people do too many shitty things, and none of them have half a brain to try something else. It's sad that these things happen, but it's even worse when the world knows they happen, and yet they sit idley by and do nothing. "Freedom" isn't such a hot shit idea, when you really look at it.

It's certainly sickening when you come home to a country that is SO fortunate that you would be doing well in comparison even to live on our streets! It's a shitty thing when you hear someone you know complain about something so trivial as "I dont have anything to wear, my life is over!" when there are mouths in the world who cant even afford to be fed..
