Thanks for this. I'm going through somewhat of a crisis right now. Being a CS major in my final semester, I'm realizing that what most people become CS majors for - software engineering - isn't for me. It's commitment to a life of forced overtime, 70 hour weeks, deadlines, arguments, confusion and chaos. What good is having a 6-figure income when you never get the time to enjoy it? What good is driving an M5, if it's sitting in your garage because you have to take public transportation downtown because parking fees are atrocious and traffic is ridiculous? What good is supporting a family if you're never around to spend time with them?
But you're right. People should do what they love, above all.

That just about sums it up. I should've had you write the entry for me as it would have saved a lot of unnecessary rambling.
It's good to hear from you though. Congrats on being in your final semester even if it's full of confusion. So what is it you love doing? Is there anything else you can do with your major?
