This vaugly reminds me of some required reading book from 6th grade where a kid lived in a big tree stump and had an owl or maybe a hawk as a pet and would come down from the mountain to go to the library. By the by, why do fire lookouts interest you?

Fire lookouts interest me because I like to set forests on fire and watch them burn!!! Fuck Smokey the Bear!!!
Actually that is not the reason. It's partially due to Jack Kerouac and I even want to visit the same one he did, Desolation Peak but it's a long drive and my car is in terrible condition. He wrote about the fire lookout in Dharma Bums and Desolation Angels and mentions it in others.
I also have been borrowing a book from the Covington Library for the last few years and it's awesome and called, "How to Rent a Fire Lookout in the Pacific Northwest," so that got me stoked about them. I like being on the top of large structures... such as mountains and buildings. I don't know, if I could live in one forever by myself I would.
