1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?

Drove across the Golden Gate Bridge in a firetruck. Drove to NYC with a car full of t00bs.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't make any.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Nope. :(

4. Did anyone close to you die?

My father-in-law

5. What countries did you visit?

None. I'm making up for that in 2009.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?

More time! For everything!

7. What date from 2008 will remain etched in your memory?

Everyone else is saying this too, but really November 4, 2008 was just the most amazing day.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Agreeing to be the Registration Coordinator for Sirens!

9. What was your biggest failure?

Procrastinating!

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Injured my rotator cuff, did a few months of physical therapy, it was quiet for a while, but it's flared up again in the last week.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Hmmm. The fresh fortune cookies in Chinatown, San Francisco? I bought a lot of things, but nothing else really stands out.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

foldingstar. Barack Obama. The US electorate.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Dick Cheney. Rod Blagojevich. Sarah Palin.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Travel and new clothes.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Our trip to California. The Presidential election.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?

Yes, We Can by Will.i.am

Exercising.

Procrastinating.

With my family.

I had a brief, flaming crush on Tom Daley.

None. ;)

24. What was your favorite TV program?

Doctor Who. I loved Catherine Tate.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

No.

26. What was the best book you read?

The Red Tent.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Umm...apparently I didn't have any music discoveries this year.

28. What did you want and get?

A GPS.

29. What did you want and not get?

A new cellphone.

30. What was your favorite film of the year?

It's a tie between Juno and Milk

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I was 39. I went to dinner with my family and was able to fit into a dress I hadn't worn in over 10 years.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

To have lost 20 pounds instead of only 10.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?

Comfortably fashionable?

34. What kept you sane?

As always, foldingstar. And tea days.

35. What celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Tom Daley. Yes, I know he's 14! Shhhh! It's not like you all didn't fancy Daniel Radcliffe when he was that age too!

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

The election, obviously.

37. Who did you miss?

Seeing our NYC friends.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

Well, I didn't meet her this year, but I got to know darthrami a lot better and I really enjoy our lunches.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.

I'm not sure I can encapsulate it but learned a lot about myself this year.
